Late Monday evening the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) captured an adult male bear near the scene of a recent bear attack in the Carisbrooke neighborhood of Lake Mary. As with the other bears, the FWC removed from the neighborhood, this bear showed signs of being highly habituated to people. Therefore, staff determined that this bear was a potential threat to public safety and needed to be put down. FWC staff will remain in the area working with residents and local authorities.
