They also banned all but landowners from sport hunting wild swine, too. The limit will be five elk in southwest and southeast Oklahoma. That number is excluding the elk taken in the controlled hunts or the elk hunts already established on private land in Kiowa, Comanche and Caddo counties, where elk have escaped to from the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Washington, DC - Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe has signed Sunday hunting into law, allowing Virginia to join the 40 other states that allow hunting on privately owned lands on Sundays. Sponsored by Delegate Todd Gilbert, and cosponsored by many members of the Virginia Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus, HB 1237 passed the Senate on February 18 (28-11) after clearing the House of Delegates on January 30 (71-27). QDM Co-Ops Enjoy Higher Hunt Satisfaction Deer hunters who participate in Quality Deer Management (QDM) Cooperatives enjoy nearly twice the level of hunting satisfaction that other deer hunters experience, according to new research from Michigan State University (MSU) that appears in an upcoming issue of QDMA's Quality Whitetails magazine. MSU graduate student Anna Mitterling surveyed 350 members of 16 different QDM Cooperatives covering 90,000 acres in south central Michigan for her Master's thesis in Fisheries and Wildlife. She found satisfaction levels among the hunters increased from 45 percent before to 75 percent after they became involved in a QDM Cooperative.
