Interagency Grizzly Bear committee to hold meeting in Missoula

MISSOULA – The Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee (IGBC), the multi-agency committee responsible for grizzly bear recovery in the lower continental United States and adjacent Canadian Provinces will be holding their annual winter meeting in Missoula, Montana from December 9, 2014 – December 10, 2014. The meeting will take place at the Holiday Inn Downtown, located at 200 S Pattee St. The sessions on both days will begin at 8:00 AM. The public is invited to attend, and a public comment period will be provided at the end of each day.
Leadership of the IGBC alternates on a two-year basis between state and federal member agencies. Scott Talbott, the Director of Wyoming Game & Fish is the current chair who will be handing the gavel over to Vice-Chair Tammy Whittington, Associate Regional Director for Resource Stewardship and Science in the Intermountain Region of the National Park Service. Because of unexpected medical issues, Talbott will not be attending the meeting, so Whittington will begin her term at this meeting. The Wyoming Game & Fish Department will be represented by Brian Nesvik, Chief Game Warden and Chief of the Wildlife Division and current chair of the Yellowstone Ecosystem Subcommittee.
