Deer dogging vote delayed

A vote on banning dogs from the Three Rivers, Pine Creek and Honobia Wildlife Management areas in southeast Oklahoma was delayed until March 24.

The Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission was scheduled to vote on the proposed rule Monday, but commissioners from southeast Oklahoma were unable to attend the meeting because of the weather.

A meeting for that vote was rescheduled for March 24 in Oklahoma City.

It’s already illegal to hunt deer with dogs, but game wardens said it would be easier to enforce the law if dogs were banned entirely from those wildlife management areas.
